Race Packet Stuffing

Assist with stuffing flyers and promotional items in runners’ race packets. This will take place on August 29, 2010 at The Runner’s Soul, 5 S. La Grange Road, La Grange, 708-354-7685, at 5:00 p.m.

Pre-registration and Packet pick-up

Process registrations, and distribute race pakets, timing devices and race shirts to runners who pre-register at The Runner’s Soul, 5 S. La Grange Road, La Grange, Wednesday, September 1st through Sunday, September 5th.

Race Day Registration

Process race day registrations, greet runners, staff information areas and offer assistance as needed.

Race Day Race-Packet Distribution

Prior to the race, on race day, distribute race packets and D-tag timing devices to all runners who have completed their registration.

Traffic Control, Parking

Help direct participants to the parking lot and race area.

Gear Check/Bike Check

Runners have the opportunity to store their gear and bicycles in a secured area until the race is over. Volunteers will collect and store gear until it is picked up following the completion of the race.

Course Marshal

Be on the course pointing runners on the correct path and direction, watch for motor vehicles and assist with traffic control (at certain locations where heavy traffic is not expected), monitoring the safety of our participants, and reporting any safety issues that arise during the event.

Aid Station

Serve water, replacement drinks and energy gel to runners at designated stations on the course during the race.

Runner Refreshment

Serve food and drinks to the runners after the race.

Finish Line and Clean-up.

Direct finishers at the finish line area to post race refreshments and activities. Assist with post-event clean-up.

Junior Races

Assist in the coordination of children’s races and activities.

Area Captain

Area Captains must be responsible adults willing to assume command and oversee other volunteers in one of the above areas (please select preferred area) and provide guidance and direction as needed.
