Race Day Information

  • Last Minute Information

Well, the Last Minute is almost here, and we hope you are ready!

We advise you to plan to arrive early. Remember, all timing chips will be distributed on Race Day morning at the Starting Line Area. So allow time to park, pick up your chip, check your gear (either in your car or at Gear Check), use the toilet and hydrate, and warm up before the race.

Tents for Race Day Registration, Packet Pick-up, Chip Pick-up and Gear Check will be set up near the Starting Line on Kensington Road, near Kensington Court. We will also have port-a-johns and pre-race water near the Starting Line.

Also remember, the Starting Line is not in Central Park. It is on Kensington Road. To find the best driving directions to the race from your house, use the address "1400 Kensington Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523" with any on-line driving direction program, such as Mapquest or Yahoo Maps, as your destination. As you arrive, you will reach Jorie Blvd. from either 22nd Street (north of the Starting Line) or 31st Street (a/k/a Oak Brook Road, which is south of the Starting Line).

From 22nd Street/Jorie: Turn southbound onto Jorie Blvd. and continue in that direction toward Kensington Road. However, shortly before reaching Kensington, you will be directed by Race staff into the Ace Hardware parking lots. Follow their directions into the lots.

From 31st Street (Oak Brook Road): Turn northbound onto Jorie Blvd., passing Forest Gate Drive and Central Park and the McDonalds Soccer Fields, to Kensington Road. At that corner, you will be directed by Race staff to turn left (i.e.: west) onto Kensington Road. Follow Kensington westward (cautiously - Race participants will be crossing the street….) toward the cul-de-sac at the end of the street. But, shortly before reaching the cul-de-sac, you will be directed by Race staff to turn right off of Kensington, and into The Crossings Office Center parking lots.

Important Note: If you are coming north on Jorie Blvd. from 31st Street, plan to arrive at the parking lot before 6:45 AM, as Jorie will be closed to northbound traffic north of Ronald Lane (which is south of Kensington Road) at that time.

In any event, for your best race experience, PLAN TO ARRIVE EARLY. Figure on parking, walking to Chip Pick-up, etc., possibly waiting in a line, organizing yourself, warming up, etc., and the fact that one and a half thousand other people are arriving at the same place at the same time to do the same thing, and plan your time of arrival accordingly.

Check the "Site Map" tab, and download the Map to help you get around on Race Day morning.
